I read widely and in most genres but romance and westerns. Here you'll find my reviews since 2007, with a few reviews of previously read books as well.

In 2012, I completed an "authors of the world" challenge, reading a book for every country (and a few other entities) by someone who'd lived there for at least two years. I expect to tag these books by challenge and country in the near future. I'm still refining my list by adding books that better meet my challenge criteria.

In a Sunburned Country

In a Sunburned Country - Bill Bryson Bryson's enjoyable peregrinations in Australia, which were not only enjoyable to read while there, but also gave me something to chat about with the Australians with whom I shared a table while on tour in the South Pacific. It's true--mention funnel webs or croc attacks and you won't have to say another word for the whole meal as Aussies regale you with anecdotes about their poisonous and/or toothy creatures for hours. Bryson, like Twain and Theroux, brings in a lot of history and natural history, which I appreciate in a travelogue.
